CloudNetworks Partners with Kong… to Supply AI Gateway in Korea
Single gateway controls and observes LLM, MCP, and AI agent callsApplies authentication, rate limiting, and audit logs… supports AI governance frameworkCloudNetworks (CEO Heung-gyun Jung) announced that it has signed a partnership with Kong, a global API and AI connectivity company, and will begin supplying "Kong AI Gateway" in Korea.Kong AI Gateway is a solution that supports the integrated management, from a single gateway, of various AI calls occurring within enterprises, including LLM (large language model), MCP (Model Context Protocol), and AI agent calls. As enterprise use of generative AI recently expands beyond the testing stage into actual services and business environments, how to build authentication, access control, usage management, monitoring, and audit systems for AI calls is emerging as a new challenge. In particular, in environments where multiple LLMs, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), MCP, and AI agents are interconnected, call paths are becoming more complex, making it difficult to apply consistent security policies and operational systems using existing API management methods alone.Managing LLM, MCP, and agent traffic all from the gatewayKong is a company that has provided an API management platform based on the open-source Kong Gateway. Recently, it has been expanding its existing API management scope to include LLM, MCP, and agent-to-agent (A2A) communication.Kong AI Gateway is a product that extends the existing API gateway concept into the AI environment, designed to centrally control, secure, and observe LLM and generative AI API calls.Calls to multiple LLM providers can be managed through a single interface, and it operates on the same runtime as the existing Kong Gateway.Existing API security policies such as authentication/authorization, rate limiting, and audit logs can also be applied to AI calls. It also offers features specialized for AI environments, such as personally identifiable information (PII) removal, prompt control, semantic caching, and AI traffic observability.According to the company, this allows AI security and operational policies that were previously implemented separately in each application to be applied uniformly at the gateway layer.CloudNetworks to provide implementation, integration, and technical supportAlong with supplying Kong AI Gateway, CloudNetworks plans to provide architecture design and implementation tailored to domestic customer environments, integration with existing systems, and technical support. As enterprise AI adoption expands, the importance of a control system that can identify which users and systems are calling which models, manage usage and costs, and track policy violations—not just model performance itself—is also growing.Based on this partnership, CloudNetworks plans to link its existing AI operating environment with the control functions of the gateway layer and expand its AI governance-related business.Heung-gyun Jung, CEO of CloudNetworks, said, "As generative AI is applied to actual business operations, enterprises need to consider not only model performance but also how to control and observe AI calls. Based on our experience building AI operating environments, we will supply Kong AI Gateway to support domestic enterprises in building their AI governance systems."David Carless, Vice President of Kong for Asia Pacific, India, and Japan, said, "This is a point in time when adoption of Kong AI Gateway is gaining momentum among major domestic companies in finance, manufacturing, retail, and other sectors. We will strengthen our cooperation with CloudNetworks to help companies build stable AI governance systems."Source: DailySecu (https://www.dailysecu.com)
