CloudNetworks announced on the 18th that it has signed a partnership with Kong, a global company specializing in API and AI connectivity, and will begin supplying "Kong AI Gateway" in Korea.
This partnership was pursued in response to growing demand for AI traffic control and governance as the use of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) expands within enterprises.
As enterprise AI adoption enters the service operation stage, traffic involving LLM providers, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agent-to-agent (A2A) communication is becoming increasingly complex. As a result, the need for a central management gateway capable of applying consistent authentication and security policies, and managing cost and monitoring beyond the individual application level, is becoming more prominent.
Kong AI Gateway is designed to centrally control, secure, and observe generative AI and LLM API calls, built on the runtime of the existing open-source-based Kong Gateway. A key feature is its ability to manage calls to multiple LLM providers through a single standard interface.
Key functions include existing API-level authentication/authorization, rate limiting, and audit logs, as well as AI-specific features provided at the gateway layer, such as personally identifiable information (PII) masking, prompt control, semantic caching, and traffic observability. This allows enterprises to standardize security policies—previously built individually for each application—into a common layer.
Along with supplying the solution, CloudNetworks plans to comprehensively provide architecture design tailored to customer environments, implementation, system integration, and technical support, expanding its AI governance portfolio.
