📜CloudNetworks Wins Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Agency Director's Award
On November 26, the "Smart Manufacturing Innovation Technology Development Project (R&D) Achievement Sharing Ceremony," jointly hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and ICT, was held at the Korea Science and Technology Center. CloudNetworks was selected as an award recipient, and Cha Ji-hyun, Director of the Research Institute, attended the event to receive the award.
This award was given to companies and research institutions that achieved outstanding results in the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Technology Development Project, which has been underway since 2022. A total of 12 institutions received awards, and CloudNetworks received the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Agency Director's Award.

The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Technology Development Project is a large-scale, inter-ministerial collaborative R&D project jointly promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and ICT. It is being carried out over five years from 2022 to 2026 with a total budget of KRW 421.3 billion (KRW 316 billion from the national treasury), and aims to upgrade the smart manufacturing capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises and enhance the competitiveness of smart factory supplier companies.
Approximately 200 people attended the achievement sharing ceremony, including officials from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Agency, and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), as well as researchers carrying out the projects and industry-academia-research experts. The event featured presentations of outstanding projects along with technical exchanges between projects, and discussed ways to spread the results of smart manufacturing R&D on-site.
Kwon Sun-jae, Director General for Regional Enterprise Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "We have continuously pursued this project to spread AI- and data-based innovation across domestic manufacturing sites, and we plan to prepare follow-up R&D and non-R&D support measures to secure the competitiveness of SMEs in the era of the AI great transformation."
Park Tae-wan, Director General for Information and Communications Industry Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, emphasized, "Smart manufacturing centered on SMEs is important," adding, "Physical AI is a key solution that can innovate productivity at manufacturing sites, and we will actively support the construction of data pipelines and the securing of world model-based technologies to internalize the tacit knowledge of manufacturing sites."
Through its own research institute, CloudNetworks has developed key smart manufacturing innovation technologies, including an intelligent interlock system based on image information, actuator virtual sensing technology, and a defect information acquisition system based on pneumatic consumption patterns. This award recognizes CloudNetworks' technological capabilities for the digital transformation and intelligentization of manufacturing sites, and the company plans to continue leading innovation in the smart manufacturing field through ongoing R&D investment.
